Have you seen this symbol on cars or in other places? What is it and what does it mean?

It’s called the Gadsden Flag named after American general and politician Christopher Gadsden. He designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution. It was used during the Revolutionary War to let Britain know to stay out of our business. The timber rattlesnake is used because Benjamin Franklin first used it in a 1751 newspaper cartoon depicting how the 13 colonies need to join forces or die. The timber rattlesnake is found in all 13 colonies and as such was used by Mr. Franklin to depict them.

Have you ever asked God for something tangible… and received it?

There were many shells present on the Gulf Coast of Florida that week. On previous trips to the Sunshine State one beach treasure eluded me; a fully intact sand dollar. I really wanted to find one because I love the Legend of the Sand Dollar! (

It would be easy for God to put one in my path, right? All week I kept a watchful eye with no luck. Maybe getting up early to beat other shell hunters was the key.
